VY Canis Majoris is the largest star known to man. It is a red Hypergiant, located in the Milky way and measuring between 1800 to 2100 solar radii(radiusの複数形). One Radius(半径) is equal to the current radius of the Sun and it is approximately 432,450 miles (695,500 kilometers). VY Canis Majoris is so large that if our Sun were replaced by it, its surface would extend to (or maybe even pass) the orbit of Saturn. In Earth terms it would take 70 000 000 000 000 000 (70 quadrillion(10の15乗)) Earths to fill up the VY Canis Majoris.おおいぬ座VY星（VY Canis Majoris）は、おおいぬ座にある赤色超巨星であり、2010年現在確認された中で最も大きい恒星の最有力候補である。この星の直径は推定25億 - 30億kmで、太陽の1,800倍 - 2,100倍、体積にして太陽の60億 - 90億倍。
